YSL meets Alexander Wang

the inspiration

before

after

Another A.Wang inspired piece from the Fall '08 runway. I took this mint condition Yves Saint Laurent skirt and simply added a front zipper and shortened it. Et voila, a contemporary look for a vintage classic. I definitely want one of these hot skirts for myself, so there will be more to come!

OMG, this is so stunning. I love that it's gold, too. You are so phenomenal behind that machine, seriously.

If I weren't as broke as I am - I would be all over that piece in a heartbeat.

Hope you're well, love!

It looks really good. The wool material holds up the zipper really well.

I love what you did with that skirt! I always find myself doing that, tool the whole buying something with the thought that I'll be able to recreate it into something that looks completely different.

I love your tank, also! I just made one like it, actually.

That's what I call talent. That skirt is beautiful.

That skirt is a really good look on you, especially since you have great legs. I should say the same about the shoulders—they look really great with the shape of that top.

you do beautiful work!

I just wonder if you could have used a non-designer skirt to reconstruct? Depending on the label, YSL is a designer you would want to leave intact.
